Finally on topic for DA

I hear about all these programs you can download and use for production of art or editing, or both. I'm familiar with CS3, though I don't have the HD space to spare, nor do I have the cash to burn. Not willingly anyway, and I would have to pick up lessons just to use it, let alone picking up talent to make something look good. :lol:

So, I hear about programs like GIMP, OpenCanvas, etc etc.

Someone wanna clue me in as to what's free and as good & better than MS Paint? I'm only familiar with that right now, so I'm nowhere near the level of CS3 or other fancy programs.
